Complete Hen Pheasant Skin.
Complete Hen Pheasant Skin.
Complete Hen Pheasant Skin are a real value. Body, head ,tail and wings. With the variety of feathers you can make wings on traditional wet flies. Tail for nymphs. Feathers for stoneflies and sculpins. Neck and the wing covert feather are excellent for soft hackles and spider patterns.

This is good stuff. If there were more in stock, I'd get another one. I understand the comments from the other reviewer, but I generally wash outside skins before ever setting them on my desk or getting them near other material anyway. At $25 a skin, asking for Whiting-level processing seems unreasonable to me and these are good enough to make it a clear value. Cleanliness was on a par other skins (grouse, partridge, etc.) I've gotten from Veniard and Hareline and are better quality than a lot of stuff I've seen from Moonlight. Feathers are in great condition and my hen at least was clearly NOT the runt of the litter. Tons of good stuff to work with. I will be washing it, same as the previous reviewer, but the value here is great. Recommended.
The hen pheasant skin has some small feathers that I plan to use for wet flies.
I was disappointed in condition of the skin as it was very matted, oily and not cleaned very good. I had to wash it in Landry soap & dawn to get the feathers useable. So the bottom line is I would not purchased a skin in that conditionin person.
